Chen Cuiting burst onto the
international gymnastics scene at the 1986 Goodwill
Games in Moscow. Although her gymnastics alone were
enough to warrant attention, it was her diminuitive
size more than anything that was the "talk of
the town." Before Chen, Chinese gymnasts were
larger bodied. Because her surprisingly diminuitive
size, Chen was soon dubbed "China Doll."
Chen's gymnastics career went on to
include an Olympic Games, two World Championship
teams, team Asian Games, and a host of other
international meets. Following her successful
gymnastics career, Chen moved to Hong Kong.
According to the January 1997 issue
International Gymnast magazine, Chen continues to live in Hong Kong where
she works as a banker. Chen also balances her banking
career with international judging assignments. A few
years ago she earned her Brevet judging credentials -
one of her first international judging
responsibilities was the 1996 World Apparatus Finals
in Puerto Rico.
Chen Cuiting was born on July 15, 1971
